Last week, Mainsoft welcomed Rob Koplowitz, principal analyst at Forrester Research to speak with more than 150 Lotus customers that have adopted Microsoft SharePoint and want to promote end user adoption by integrating it with email.

According to a recent study conducted by Infotrends, SharePoint adoption falls far short of SharePoint deployment. Today, of the 62.2% of employees who now have access to SharePoint, only 23.8% access it at least once daily. 

Collaboration is a top IT priority and the key to enabling people to increase the effectiveness of their work while reducing the time, cost, and effort spent working together. But how can you drive mainstream user adoption of Microsoft SharePoint when your users are committed to using Lotus Notes?

These days, many enterprises are investing strategically in SharePoint for email and document management. However, promoting SharePoint adoption among mainstream IT users is easier said than done, particularly when your enterprise relies on IBM Lotus Notes and Lotus Sametime for messaging.

Today, during Mainsoft’s virtual user group meeting, Yaacov Cohen, Mainsoft’s CEO, and Jonas Martinsson, a Mainsoft product manager, highlighted SharePoint Integrator for Lotus Notes v 2.0.

Just back from a week at Rational Software Conference in Orlando. It was remarkable meeting so many IBM customers that want to integrate Microsoft SharePoint into their Jazz-based software delivery platform.

During today’s meeting, Mainsoft CEO Yaacov Cohen addressed common use cases for integrating SharePoint and Lotus Notes, including remote document authoring and sharing; complying with regulations and statutes; and saving email storage costs.

At 1:00 pm EDT, Mainsoft CEO Yaacov Cohen will present common use cases for integrating SharePoint and Lotus Notes, including remote document authoring and archiving Lotus Notes emails on SharePoint. Jonas Martinsson, a Mainsoft product manager, will demo Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator for Lotus Notes software, which enables users to access, modify, and publish Lotus Notes emails and attachments on SharePoint from a Lotus Notes sidebar.

Today, we have our first Virtual User Group meeting. We have had numerous Web Seminars during the past years but this is the first time we exclusively invited our SharePoint Integrator customers and prospects who have been using the product. We plan to do this at least once a quarter to share latest case studies, best practices, and product releases. Today, we have more than 125 registered participants!
